Always be prepared

They tell men never to go through a women’s purse. Should they be brave enough to break this fundamental rule, they’ll likely find some lipsticks, pens and gum, buried amongst a plethora of tampons. This might not be the case for everyone, but as a woman who suffers from heavy periods, I certainly have a fully-stocked tampon inventory at all times. I learned my lesson the hard way after my first time experiencing an awkward leak. My family and I were heading on vacation to the Bahamas (dreamy, I know) and of course, I was suited up in my straw hat and flowing white dress. We passed the stress of security and boarded the plane. As we were taxing around for takeoff, I thought to myself “I really have to go to the washroom”. Once we were soaring high and the captain turned off the seatbelt sign, I stood up and made my way to the “lavatory”. Upon arrival, I settled in and pulled down my underwear, only to realize that I had a horrible leak that had gone right through to my dress. All of my bags were checked and there was nothing I could do. From there on out, I’ve always been prepared.
