Heaving heavy periods seriously sucks. I find myself changing tampons every hour to avoid a dreaded leak. I never know when it is going to strike or how bad it will be. I’ve come up with a few solutions that all women with heavy periods know far too well. First and foremost, never wear white when you have your period – come on, you’re just ASKING for an embarrassing situation. Second, always bring a spare sweater with you. Why you might ask? In the event you have a leak, a simple sweater tied around the waist is all you need to hold you over until you get a fresh pair of trousers. Third, double up for double the insurance – I usually wear both a tampon and pad during my time of the month to avoid leakage.
